Intensive MMI Practice

Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) are becoming an increasingly popular interview format among UK medical schools. Realistic practice is crucial if you want to perform competitively with this complex interviewing style! Our goal is to give you practice and feedback to interview successfully.

Kaplan's MMI interview course focuses on providing highly authentic practice to give you complete confidence on the day of your MMI. Students will be paired up and practice 2 full circuits made up of 20-22 stations. They will have the opportunity to not only have the ultimate mock MMI interview experience, but also observe and learn from their peers.

Our 1-day MMI interview course runs for 4 hours and offers a realistic representation of MMI circuits and individual stations. The course is led by medical school professionals and actors experienced in delivering MMIs, so that you can experience each station exactly as they would be on the day of your interview.

A course information packet is also provided, enabling you to review techniques and approach your MMI with ease and focus.

FAQs

Use our FAQs to help you select from the available options for medical school interview preparation.

1. What’s the difference between MMI Preparation and an Interview Preparation course?

The Kaplan Interview Preparation course is comprehensive and provides strategies for approaching the topic areas that are covered in traditional panel interviews, with the opportunity for 1:1 practice and some MMI station practice.

The Kaplan MMI interview course offers realistic practice for the MMI with 2 full multiple mini-interview circuits made up of 20 stations.

2. I start year 12 in September: will I need to consider either the Medical School Interview Preparation course or MMI Preparation?

If you’re just finishing your GCSEs, there’s still time before making decisions on medical school interview preparation. An initial step would be to gather more knowledge about the medical schools to which you can apply, in order to see which interview style they use.

3. I’m starting year 13 in September: which interview preparation option should I consider?

You should initially consider the Interview Preparation option as it covers all the key topic areas of interviews with an introduction to realistic MMI practice. The MMI interview course focuses on realistic practice for multiple mini-interviews.

4. How do I make a decision on the interview course I should take when I haven’t received interview offers yet?

You can get in touch with the medical schools where you have applied, to see which of them run panel interviews or MMI. This will help you understand which style to focus your practice on.

5. I’m quite nervous about the unusual dynamic of MMIs, but also need to brush up on interview topics like the NHS and medical ethics. Which option do I go for?

We advise that you opt for our Interview Preparation course if you’re looking for support on interview panel topic areas plus a taster of MMI stations.

6. Can I take both the Interview Preparation Course and MMI Preparation?

You most definitely can! This is especially relevant if you have applied to a mixture of universities that use one or the other. You can save £30 on both courses if they are purchased together.
