HPAT® Bursary Programme
For gifted students who are unable to fund a course.
How to Apply
Gifted students who are applying to medical school but are unable to fund comprehensive HPAT preparation need not be left at a disadvantage. Each year we offer a number of places on our HPAT courses to those who meet the criteria for our bursary programme. Students who are awarded a bursary will receive a free place on a prep course, worth up to €455.
A completed application form - Please provide the correct contact details and your chosen course date (see our upcoming class schedule for details). In addition, your school must stamp the completed application form.
A personal statement - You must include a typed personal statement (maximum length of one side of A4) stating why you want to study medicine and why this bursary would benefit you.
Letter of recommendation - This must be provided on your school's letterhead and must confirm that you meet the application criteria, as well as any other details or information that the school feels is relevant to your application.
Your school needs to confirm that you meet the criteria below. All candidates must be:
In the top 25% of students (academically) in their year at school.
Well-suited and committed to a career as a doctor or another profession for which taking the HPAT is required as a prerequisite for entry.
In receipt of a school bursary or some other government support and would be unable to attend this course without the financial assistance of a scholarship. Please provide some information/evidence supporting this.
