Questions: 26

Our students often call this ‘the section with the codes’ – as it tests your ability to interpret and understand information using codes.
In this UKCAT section you are presented with a scenario, which may contain text, tables and other information. This is followed by 26 questions; each question has four or five response options. Some questions may have more than one correct answer - in which case you will be asked to identify all the correct options.
The Decision Analysis section is designed to assess your ability to deal with various forms of information, to infer relationships, to make informed judgements, and to decide on an appropriate response in situations of complexity and ambiguity.
This is intended to simulate the types of decisions you will need to make in the real world – where your information comes from a number of sources and the right answer is not immediately clear.
Our students often tell us this is the section they worry about the most as it involves lots of reading, analysing, and going back and forth between questions and the tables of codes. The Kaplan Strategies you’ll learn in class will teach you how to approach these tricky questions, improve your pacing and improve your scoring.
