The 2 part Management Education for Tomorrow ideas to Innovation Challenge will award $250,000 to the top ideas with $50,000 being the top prize.

GMAT: Details of the New Integrated Reasoning Section Released

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has announced details about the GMAT test change, set to be introduced next year.

Important GMAT Test Changes

GMAC have announced that as of June 2012 the GMAT test will have an innovative new section included on the test. The new integrated reasoning section is designed to measure people's ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and reflects what prospective students will encounter as a manager in today's business environment.

Newly qualified City lawyers break £100,000 salary barrier.

There is good news for those who are looking to become Lawyers, for the first time in history, newly qualified lawyers in their 20’s who have completed their training have broken the £100,000 salary barrier. The US Company Bingham McCutchen are now offering their newly qualified lawyers exactly £100,000, whilst the average pay for workers aged 22 to 29 is just under £21,000.

Harvard Admissions Higher Than Ever

News Press reports that it has been an historic year for Harvard admissions with more that 30,000 students applying to the college, leading to an admission rate of 6.9 percent for the Class of 2014. Academic talent among applicants has also increased with many scoring excellent SAT scores and ranking first in their high school classes.

Top Business Schools Increase Their Intake Due to Record Number of Students

The Financial Times has reported that there are a record number of students at top business schools this year and because of this, leading schools such as Wharton, Harvard and Stanford have increased their intake. Other top schools such as INSEAD plan to increase their intake during the coming year to allow for more successful applicants.

The 2010 Economist MBA Rankings

The Economist has been publishing their MBA rankings for the past 9 years. Often schools adjust a few places within the rankings throughout the years however 2010’s rankings have been less predictable. This is largely to do with schools finding it more difficult to open career opportunities and meet graduate salary expectations due to the struggling job market.

GMAC Application Trends Survey Report 2010

GMAC have recently released their annual trends survey report providing statistics and the latest trends from graduate management education across the world. One key finding was that Executive MBA programs received increased volumes of applications, reversing a 3-year decline, whilst some other programs continue to struggle.
