Transcripts

A transcript is often required as part of the application for admission to a US degree programme.

A transcript in the US would consist of all the grades a high school student has achieved in the various subjects they have taken over the years.

A US transcript lists the subjects a student has taken over the semesters and their grades throughout. This allows admissions officers to see how the student has improved and the breadth of subjects they have taken.

Ideally they would like a similar document from applicants from the UK, rather than just a single grade achieved at the end of their high school education in their chosen subjects.

If you are unable to provide such a document or if your school does not give grades on a term-basis, any type of evaluatory mark is acceptable. Include a note explaining the grading system used.

These documents should be on official school letterhead, with a school stamp of certification if possible. Certified copies of your GCSE results should also be included.

Please note that these qualification results do not replace the SAT, and SAT results will still need to be provided alongside the above. Further, it is recommended that individual admissions departments for the institutions you have decided to apply to be contacted for full details about their application requirements.
