Five full-length Computer-based UKCAT Practice Tests

Timing on the UKCAT is extremely important. To increase your familiarity with UKCAT-style test questions and build your stamina, we offer five full-length UKCAT practice tests in a computerised interface that looks and feels just like the real UKCAT. Students should take the five computer-based practice tests after completing the Kaplan course; sitting these tests will help you practice pacing and become familiar with the UKCAT test format, helping you to answer the maximum number of questions correctly and give you more confidence on Test Day.

Ongoing Academic Support

Course enrolment includes email access to your UKCAT teacher until your test date. Teachers will be available to answer academic questions that arise during your self-study following the course.

Course Materials

Students will receive the same course books as students taking the Live Classroom course and you’ll also have access to the online element of the course. Materials include:

UKCAT Strategy Book: Contains all of the strategies and techniques that you will work through in the lessons. It also includes hundreds of practice questions and techniques to help you on test day.

Five Full-length Computer-based UKCAT Practice Tests: Put all of the techniques that you learn in class into practice with these 5 practice tests. Kaplan’s tests are as realistic as possible, contain questions for all sections of the UKCAT test, and will help you get to grips with the types of questions you will face, and also the tight timing of the test. Kaplan’s tests have also been designed to mirror the appearance of the UKCAT test interface, and as such will provide essential practice for the UKCAT’s computerised format.

Ongoing Academic Support: Our Kaplan teachers are available to answer any of your questions right up until the day of the test. This means that we’ll answer any of your questions that come up in independent study, or when you’re reviewing content from the course.

UKCAT Live Online FAQs

Is there a difference between a UKCAT Classroom Course and a UKCAT Live Online Course?
The obvious difference between the two courses is that if you opt for a Live Online course, you won't physically be joining your teacher in a classroom. The Online Classroom that you will join will allow you to see your teacher through a webcam, chat with other students, watch as your teacher illustrates answers to questions, as well as ask any questions that you might have. Everything else between the two classes is the same.

Do I need to download software onto my computer?
No, you won't need to install any software. When you join the virtual classroom, your teacher will encourage you to run the audio wizard to ensure that everything is set up correctly.

What will I see on my screen when I am in the virtual classroom?
The virtual classroom has a number of features, so the layout of the screen will change according to what the teacher is reviewing. Features include presentation slides (which correspond with your course materials), UKCAT questions, a question-and-answer box, chat areas, online polls and an onscreen whiteboard which the instructor will write on just like in a “real” classroom.

I have questions about the Live Online Course, who should i contact?

Test Overview

The UKCAT is a multiple-choice computer-based test which is taken at Pearson Vue Testing Centres. The test is made up of 4 sections, each scored and timed separately.

The entire test is just over 1 1/2 hours in length.

One of the key challenges of the UKCAT test is the timing. In order to complete the test, students must move through the questions swiftly. This is a skill that is covered in the 2-day preparation course.

Test Format

The UKCAT test is made up of the following 4 sections:

- Verbal Reasoning
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Abstract Reasoning
- Decision Analysis

Each section tests a different competance, so it's important for students to achieve a good score in each section of the test.

Calculators are provided for students at the Test centre, for use in the Quantitative Reasoning section of the test.

Test Scores

Each section is scored between 300-900 points.

The average score in each section is about 600. Students should therefore aim for a score of 600 minimum in order to be competitive.
