When you register for consulting, a member of our Academic Team will contact you to discuss your needs and requirements and to assign you a consultant. The consultant will then get in touch with you to set up a first meeting, usually an hour long, at which you will discuss your academic and personal goals, and set out a plan of action. Much of your work together will be done remotely - by phone, email or Skype - and independently, when the consultant works on your behlaf.

Which package is right for me?

Your Kaplan consultant can assist you with every stage of the admissions process.

Our range of Admissions Consulting options enables you to select the number of hours that best meets your needs.

Sample activities, and approximate timing, include (but are not limited to):

  • Initial meeting: 1 hour
  • Selecting colleges: 2 hours
  • Reviewing application forms: 1 hour
  • Selecting appropriate testing: 1 hour
  • Planning and editing 1 essay: 1.5-2 hours
  • Discussing financial aid: 1 hour
  • Transcript and recommendation guidance: 1 hour

Please note that these hours include work completed on your behalf (including telephone calls, e-mails and independent research), not just face-to-face meetings.

For example, during 5 hours of consulting you could:

  • Meet with the consultant and discuss your goals
  • Create a shortlist of suitable colleges
  • Learn about financial aid
  • Review application forms

During 10 hours of consulting you could:
